Melanie is originally from Long Island, New York and attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she received her MS in Occupational Therapy.  Prior to becoming an OT, she was a special education teacher for three years in Hawaii.  She has always enjoyed working with children and their families to see how they can progress, even in the smallest ways.  Not only does she work in the pediatric field, but she also holds a full time position working with the geriatric population at a skilled nursing facility here in San Diego.

Outside of the center, Melanie enjoys spending time with friends, surfing, hiking, paddle boarding, and being outside as much as she can.
