Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs):
Often called IEE”s, an independent educational evaluation is an evaluation funded by your school district to be conducted by a qualified therapist who is not employed by your school district that can use as a second opinion to your current school-based assessments. This IEE is an unbiased evaluation to determine present levels as well as any goals, programs, or services your child might benefit from as a part of his/her Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
As a parent, you have the right to request an IEE from your IEP team and/or case manager and select the outside provider to conduct the IEE. At our center, our director, Kara Dodds M.S., CCC-SLP along with her OTR/L conducts assessments and includes school records review, classroom observation, interview with parents and classroom teacher, formal and informal evaluations, a full written report with clear recommendations for goals, frequency, and program development.
Consultation with other service providers (e.g. ST, OT, PT, ABA, day care providers, social workers and more)
As some children’s roadmap of services can be detailed and vast with many providers, unity is key. We are here to help bring your team together by providing consultation services to outside service providers to establish a well-rounded approach that will allow your child to succeed.
