    Occupational Therapist

    Adrianna grew up In Boston and traveled to Upstate New York for college. Adrianna has a brother, Frankie, who has Autism and by watching the progress he made with his OT inspired her to join the field. Adrianna studied health and exercise science at Syracuse University and Le Moyne College and there she obtained her Masters in Occupational Therapy. As a therapist, Adrianna loves being a part of each kiddo achieve milestones through play and meeting their goals to improve developmental skills.

    As a new west coast resident now, outside of the center, Adrianna enjoys going to the beach, soaking up the sun, traveling, playing/watching sports, and eating!

    Speech Language Pathologist

    Adrianne attended Miami University of Ohio where she received her Bachelors degree. She then went on to obtain her Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Adrianne was was inspired to become a speech therapist through her volunteer experiences working with individuals with a variety of learning differences. Adrienne likes providing the support needed to help each individual communicate effectively with their family and others and support their ability to express their uniqueness to those around them! Outside of the center, Adrienne enjoys spending time at the beach with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new cities.

    Occupational Therapist

    Alyssa was born and raised in the Indianapolis area but made the decided to venture out of Indiana for school. She attended Saint Louis University and graduated from their 5 year Master's of Occupational Therapy program with my Bachelor's in Occupational Science and Master's in Occupational Therapy. Alyssa was inspired to become an OT after shadowing an outpatient pediatric OT and an OT in the NICU. She has always loved working and being around kids and loved watching how pediatric OT's played such a large role in helping children meet their developmental milestones. Working with children brings something new every day and she loves how she can help kids reach their full potential as they meet their different milestones.

    Outside of the center, Alyssa enjoys exploring all that San Diego has to offer, traveling to new cities, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

    Occupational Therapy Assistant

    Amy was born and raised in Orlando, Florida.  Amy was inspired to become a COTA after working as a massage therapist and direct care provider (in home health) with people with various disabilities in Florida. She became passionate about advocating for and helping others to live the most happy, independent, empowered lives possible and found that Occupational Therapy offered her the opportunity to share her "hands on", fun playful side, talents, and abilities with people. Amy moved out west, and Adventist University of Health Sciences, and obtained her COTA/L license.

    Amy enjoys the daily opportunities she has to share in laughter, bring smiles, create fun ways to learn, grow, and to boost confidence in children.  Outside of the center Amy enjoys taking her dogs hiking and to the dog beach. She enjoys traveling and this year has been to Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Alaska!

    Physical Therapist

    Brittany obtained her B.A in Mathematics at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She then went on to receive her DPT in Physical Therapy at University of Southern California. Brittany has worked in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient acute, and most recently inpatient pediatrics working with children with TBI, wheel chair evaluations and fittings, neonatal intensive care unit, and gait trainers. Brittany enjoys working with the pediatric population and their families as it gives her an opportunity to be creative and innovative with her treatment plans to fit each and every child. She loves seeing the progress the kids make towards meeting their goals. Outside of the center, Brittany enjoys the outdoors while maintaining an active lifestyle. She loves to run, hike, go to the beach, and play with my golden doodle puppy, Chase.

    Finance Manager/Billing Specialist

    Cassandra was born in San Diego and grew up in Oceanside. She has enjoyed working for Kara Dodds and Associates since 2007, and love that our center is focused around helping children and their families that come into the clinic. Cassandra is dedicated to working with each family and their specific needs with insurance and billing options. She enjoys helping parents tackle the insurance questions and issues that can be overwhelming at times, allowing them to focus on their children and the therapies provided.

    Outside the center, Cassandra enjoys spending time at the beach, camping, rafting the river and exploring with her husband and two boys.

    Speech Language Pathologist

    Cindy attended San Diego State University where she received her BA in Anthropology and MA in Speech-Language Pathology. She also received her second bachelor's in Communication Disorders from Utah State University. Throughout her BA and MA experience, Cindy worked at a local non-profit organization serving refugees/immigrants and was also involved in a research lab focused on cognition and bilingualism in adults. Cindy is passionate about being an SLP as she gets the opportunity to work with individuals with communication challenges and learn from them.

    Outside of the clinic, Cindy enjoys spending time with nature and reading.

    Speech Language Pathologist

    Cocoa attended the University of Vermont (in Burlington VT) for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. As a pediatric therapist, she enjoys meeting the kids and families for the first time. As this is often for their first time in therapy, helping the whole family feel safe, welcome, and as though their needs are being met and their voices are being heard is so rewarding to her. Cocoa also loves how her days can be so new and different each day as kids can be unpredictable as they are full of surprises! It's amazing to watch kids find their strength, and to be a part of their team is very rewarding and is the greatest part of being a therapist! Outside of the center, Cocoa loves a lazy afternoon on the couch with a good book, but most of my time is spent outside exploring with my family. Hiking, going to the park, street fairs, farmer's markets, and, of course, the beach! I also love to travel, whenever possible.

    Eryn grew up in central New Jersey. She traveled to North Carolina for college where she attended East Carolina University. After 4 years at ECU, Eryn relocated and moved to Maryland to attend graduate school at Towson University. Her inspiration for becoming a therapist was originally of her love for working with children. She found great joy in providing services which assisted clients and their families in improving their overall quality of life. It brings Eryn a sense of purpose and satisfaction when children and their families meet the goals we have set for them to be successful! Outside of being a speech language pathologist, Eryn enjoys working out, being at the beach and spending time with her dog, Bentley!

    Eunice was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She was inspired to become an OT because it is was the perfect balance of the arts and sciences. Kids are so resilient and inspiring when overcoming their challenges and obstacles and she wanted to be a part in their journey.  Eunice attended University of California, Riverside and pursued a double bachelors in Psychology and Liberal Studies. She then went on obtained her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) at Stanbridge University. Eunice loves that she can use the client's strengths and her creativity to help them reach their goals and their potential.

    Outside of the center, Eunice enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with my family, friends, and her dog.

    Physical Therapist

    Iris was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from UCLA. Her experience and love for working with children as a dance teacher and tutor led her to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Iris loves working and helping people of all ages and especially enjoys helping kiddos grow, learn, and develop their gross motor skills through fun and creative activities. Outside of KDA, Iris loves spending time with her family, her fiance (wedding in November!), and her two German Shepherds, Kayla and Durham. You can find her outdoors hiking, at the beach, camping, taking road trips, exploring our beautiful country (7 more States to go!) and the world!

    Jessi received her Bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC. and recently relocated to San Diego. Jessi grew up herself with selective mutism in which that experience made her want to be able to help children with communication difficulties. Jessi likes knowing as a pediatric therapist that she is helping and making a positive impact on children’s lives. Outside of the center, Jessi likes to be active enjoying the outdoors, doing water sports, hiking, going to the beach and spending time with her dog, Zena.

    Jessica is a native of San Diego. She also graduated from San Diego State University with her bachelor’s degree and the went on to Loma Linda University where she received her SLPA certification. Jessica has with children since she was 16 years old in a variety of settings and she knew that she wanted to pursue a career where she could make a significant impact on a the lives of children. As such, she has volunteered in a special education classroom where she observed speech therapy sessions and after this opportunity, knew she wanted to be a speech therapist.

    As a therapist, Jessica is driven by seeing how each child works on their own goals and learns in different ways and the relationships she builds with each families helps these children meet their goals. Jessica believes that communication is key in a child’s life and feels very lucky to be a part of their journey to help them reach their goals. Jessica enjoys being outside. In the summer months you can find her at the bay paddle boarding, while in the winter her and her husband enjoy snowboarding. Family is very important to her so being a native, she also enjoys a lot of family gatherings!

    Kelsey grew up in Connecticut and received her B.A in Early Childhood Education from University of Massachusetts-Boston. She then went on and received her M.S in Speech-Language Pathology from Sacred Heart University. Kelsey became interested in Speech Therapy when she worked in Early Intervention as she was inspired by the difference the speech therapists made in the child's and family's life. As a therapist, she enjoys building relationships with her clients and their family and teaching carryover strategies to make home life more successful.

    Being new to San Diego, outside the center she enjoy traveling, going to the beach, exploring San Diego, shopping, and spending time with her dog, Olive.

    Speech Language Pathologist

    Krupa was born in England and moved to Florida when she was 8 and madeTampa her new home. She graduated from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) with her Bachelors and went on to obtain her Master’s degree University of South Florida. Working with children is something Krupa has wanted to do her entire life. She has always been a part of organizations that work with kids and/or for kids, which has done nothing but increase her passion for this population over the years. Krupa likes to keep all of my sessions as fun and creative as possible (she is very artsy). Although she will be directly with children, she also look forward to supporting and educating parents on how to encourage progress outside of the clinic setting. Krupa wanted to live on the west coast and when the opportunity arose she made the move to California and joined KDA.

    Outside of the clinic Krupa enjoys spending time with her family and friends as much as possible. She also enjoy going to the beach, kayaking, going to sporting events, listening to live music, and will try just about anything new.

    Laura grew up in Wisconsin and attended University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Rehabilitation Psychology. She then went on and attended Mount Mary University for her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and then relocated out to San Diego. Laura always knew she wanted to help others, and as she grew older she realized how much she loved working with children with developmental needs. She is driven as an OT by seeing the kiddos she gets to work with become more independent and reach their highest potential! Outside of the center, Laura enjoys cooking, baking, spending time outdoors, and going on weekend road trips.

    Lauren graduated with her master’s degree from the University of Iowa.  Her favorite thing about being a Speech Language Pathologist is helping children reach their full potential and working with all different ages. In her free time, she enjoys doing a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and going to the beach- anything that involves spending time in the sunny San Diego weather!

    Lisa attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate with a double major in Psychology and Linguistics. She chose to go into Speech and Language after the opportunity of working for a camp in NY with children with disabilities and that experience it gave her. She then pursued her goal and attended San Jose State for her graduate program where she obtained her Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.  As a SLP, Lisa enjoy's the constant challenge and learning of the variety of needs and personalities to tailor a treatment program unique to each child.

    Outside of the center, Lisa enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, cooking and making art (painting, scrap-booking, jewelry making, crafting).

    Mary attended UC Irvine to obtain her double bachelors in Literary Journalism and in English. Her passion for communication in all mediums and fostering meaningful relationships is what pushes her to do her best in her role. As an administrative specialist, she loves working behind the scenes and seeing the process of projects or tasks come to life from the ground up. Nothing makes her happier than solving an issue that will help ensure care and attention to the children at our clinic.

    Outside of KDA, she enjoys photography, traveling to new countries, finding new boba spots, and going on hikes with her Husky.

    Speech Language Pathologist

    Megan received her B.S. in Communication Disorders from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She then went on and received her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. What she likes the most about being a therapist is helping others and their families reach goals that will make their lives better. Seeing smiles on her client's faces as they make progress makes each day at work a great day. Outside of work, she likes to spend my time baking, sewing, taking photographs, and traveling. Megan’s goal is to visit all 50 states!

    Melissa is a San Diego native who moved to the bay area to receive her Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University. She worked as an Early Childhood Educator for four years before obtaining her Master's degree from Emerson College in Boston. Melissa became inspired to become a speech language pathologist by combining her love of child development with her love of learning languages. She particularly loves working closely with caregivers as a team. In her free time, Melissa enjoys hiking, going to the beach and learning to play golf.

    Mitch attended the University of St. Augustine, San Marcos, CA and obtained his Masters in Occupational Therapy (M.O.T.) As an OTR/L, Mitch enjoys working in pediatrics because the children he works with make him laugh every day! In many way, he feels that kids provide therapy in equal measure to the therapists. Mitch really likes working with children who present sensory processing disorders as its impactful to see how fun-filled sensory activities help others achieve things they were previously unable to do. He finds himself really relating to individuals who just need a little bit of time on swings and trampolines before tackling their chores!

    On his free time, Mitch enjoys spending most of his time with friends and family, hiking, going to the beach, or traveling to new places.

    Paayal attended Purdue University for both her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences while also obtaining a minor in Linguistics. She was inspired to become a speech therapist after growing up with some peers who had communication disorders and also through her clinical experiences working with individuals with communication disorders. She really enjoy being that spark of light for families by providing them with hope. It’s the greatest feeling in the world when she see children progress or reach their communication goals and overall notice them as being more confident.

    Paayal was born and raised in Chicago, but recently moved to San Diego. Outside of the center, you might find her kayaking, dancing, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, or going to the beach with family and friends.

    Shaina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then worked as a Mental Health Therapist at The Center for Autism in Philadelphia. It was during that time in her career that she recognized my passion for building a connection with children and helping them learn how to communicate and express themselves to the outside world. Now, as a therapist at KDA, she enjoys being able to continue building close relationships with her clients as they grow and develop their language skills. Outside of the clinic, Shaina likes to spend my time socializing with friends, traveling to new cities and countries experiencing different cultures, and making time to catch the beautiful sunset San Diego has to offer.

    Valerie, a native of San Diego attended San Diego State University & Loma Linda University. She holds a B.A. in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences - Pathology with a Minor in Spanish. Valerie was inspired to become a therapist with children by her nephew, who as a child had a speech delay. In high her school counselor introduced her to the speech therapy field. She wanted to help children just like her nephew increase their communication skills.

    Outside of the center, Valerie enjoys playing with her dog, working and out and jiu.
