Kara Dodds Therapy Center works with many organizations to enhance the programs in our community and the special needs families they reach.
Our staff of therapists are always out providing free speech and language screenings to schools, participating in organized family walks / runs, attending and offering free services at health fairs, and volunteering time on the weekends to help make these other events a success. We also are partners with other professions whom also provide quality early education and therapy services for kids. Our community partners are below:
ACT Today (Autism Care & Treatment Today) is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services to families. One of these areas is supporting military families as they recognize the extraordinary challenges military families’ experience (one for their country, the other for their children). ACT today for military families is dedicated to fund and assist military families impacted by Autism by providing financial assistance to families to help defray out-of-pocket costs associated with Autism treatments and for other qualify programs.
As a military provider, Kara Dodds and Associates is also a financial contributor and donator to ACT today for military families in our community.
Head Start is a federally funded program designed to give three to five year old children and their families the experiences they need to bring about success in public schools and improve their quality of family life. Children receive medical, dental, speech, hearing and developmental screenings. Follow-up services are provided as needed. “AKA” head start located in El Cajon also offers services to children ages one-three years of age through the Early Head Start Program.
The Autism Tree Project Foundation was founded in 2003 to raise money for research to find a cure for autism, to increase community awareness in San Diego and across the nation, to compile and disseminate the most up-to-date information regarding multi-disciplinary approaches to treating autism, and to educate parents, healthcare professionals, and the community about the characteristics and needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. ATPF's current focus is the National Poster Campaign and the Preschool Screening Program.

Christ Lutheran School located in La Mesa is a Preschool - 8th Grade Christian school rooted in a rigorous academic culture. In its state-of-the-art facilities and technology while remaining strongly committed to a traditional school environment and curriculum. CLS early partnering with parents in the Christ-centered education of their children as they accepts 2 year olds (students do not need to be potty trained) and continues molding students through the elementary and middle school years.
Easter Seals provides exceptional services, education, outreach, and advocacy so that people living with autism and other disabilities can live, learn, work and play in our communities. Easter Seals works with Kaiser to provide speech, occupational and physical therapy to those who require these specialized services at a variety of Easter Seals sits as well as using outside centers.
Kara Dodds and Associates has been working with East Seals providing individual therapy services for the individuals they serve. Lambs of Faith Lutheran Early Childhood Center is a ministry of Faith Lutheran Church and believes that play is a child’s vocation. It is through this medium that he/she learns to organize his/her thoughts and actions. The purpose of Lambs of Faith Lutheran Early Childhood Center is provide a Christ-centered environment for students to foster self-esteem and to develop at their own rate of spiritual, emotional, cognitive, social, and physical growth.
Pt. Loma Red Brick Preschool provides a preschool program in a high quality early childhood program with an emphasis on the social and emotional development of the child, with classes for 3-5 years old. Also, they offer a TLC program offering a high quality, developmentally- appropriate enrichment program for children’s ages 2 and 3, and their parents.
The philosophy of the San Diego Cooperative Preschool, located in Mission Hills, is that children learn through a play-based program planned by highly skilled staff who are educated in the field of child development. The philosophy sees the child as an individual continually developing at their own rate in all areas including physical, social-emotional, cognitive and creative domains. A child’s family is seen as an integral part of the program as they participate in all areas of the program.
Kara Dodds and Associates has been working with military family their unique needs since 2001. We currently serve over 130 Tricare families weekly for therapy visits. We are an “in network” provider work directly with Tricare doctors and to authorizations for your child making it easy for families to obtain essential therapy services.
Request our center directly when speaking with your doctor or call us today at (619) 692-0622 and we will take the lead. Authorizations are typically received within 48 hours of the request. We typically are able to schedule an evaluation and/or therapy within a week as our centers work directly with families to ensure quality of care from scheduling to intervention.

United Health Care (private insurance) provides therapy benefits for its participates when eligible for individual speech, occupational or therapy services.
