About Kara Dodds and Associates Pediatric Therapy Center

Since 2001, our certified and licensed therapists share the same mission as our owner where we strive to support families and their children in an environment that is innovative, and stress free using play-based, evidenced based therapy methods which enable children to grow and achieve their motor and communication goals. We cultivate and support our clients as they build social interactions, improve their communication, self-regulation and motor skills through daily activities helping to prepare children for those next steps in life.

Kara Dodds, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist  

Kara is owner of Kara Dodds and Associates, Inc. with centers in San Diego and in Santee, California offering Speech, Occupational, and Physical therapy.  Kara specializes in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with Autism, Apraxia, sensory feeding disorders and in developmental delay and is a member of ASHA and CSHA. Kara’s mission is to support children and their families by advocating for them to support that appropriate therapy services are provided either through insurance and/or at the local school districts and to help parents navigate these system of support.  

Kara’s advanced clinical training includes certifications in PECS, TalkTools, PROMPT, and has trainings in the methods of the SCERTS model, New Visions feeding, and in Social Stories. Kara is Hanen certified and teaches More Than Words. She has presented at the Autism Educational Network, Peter Pan Association (Italy), and at Universities to graduate students about tailoring therapy for children with Autism.
